My Story — Rebuilding Health After Illness | Faustina Lim

About Me

My Story

How a police officer turned banker turned chef ended up teaching people about healthy living after 40 — by losing her health first.

I didn't plan any of this.

My working life didn't start anywhere near a kitchen. I spent years in the Singapore Police Force, then in banking — structured, demanding worlds where you learn discipline, and where health is the thing you promise yourself you'll get to later.

Later arrived on its own terms.

I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder. Then came Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which left me temporarily paralysed. Everything I'd taken for granted — standing, walking, feeding myself — became something I had to earn back. Slowly. One small step at a time, for a long time.

Recovery didn't come from one dramatic decision. It came from hundreds of unremarkable ones. And that's when it landed properly: wellness isn't about perfection, and it isn't about following every new trend that appears on your feed. It's about understanding your own body, making informed choices, and staying consistent with the small actions that support you every day.

So I went and learned it properly. I trained as a chef and I'm studying Food Science — because I got tired of the gap between what's actually known about food and nutrition, and what most of us are told. Today, that's the work.

The Journey

Four chapters, one lesson

BEFORE

The Force, then the bank

Years in the Singapore Police Force, then banking. Structured, demanding worlds where you learn discipline — and where health is the thing you promise yourself you'll get to later.

THE TURN

Everything stopped

A rare blood disorder, then Guillain-Barré Syndrome. I lost my mobility — and with it, every assumption I'd made about being healthy enough.

THE REBUILD

Earning it back

Standing. Walking. Feeding myself. Each one had to be relearned. Food became the part of recovery I could actually take charge of.

TODAY

Farmz with Faustina

Trained as a chef, studying Food Science, and sharing what I've learned — practical nutrition, healthier recipes and honest conversations for adults over 40.

What I Believe

Most people don't need another diet.

They need someone to explain what's actually going on — clearly, without hype, and without a product attached to every answer.

Health information should make you more confident in your own decisions — not more dependent on someone else's.

The Approach

Three words. One approach to wellness after 40.

01

Eat Well

Real food, understood properly. Practical nutrition, honest talk about supplements, and healthier recipes that still taste like something you'd cook again.

02

Live Well

Wellness isn't perfection and it isn't the latest trend. It's the small, consistent choices that quietly hold you up — especially after 40.

03

Thrive Well

Knowing your own body well enough to make decisions with confidence. That's the goal. Not a diet. Not a rulebook.
